Problem description: In the lifespan networked hospitals, medical staff have to go from one patients room to another’s room and each time the medical staff has to log into the computer to perform their duties. But the problem is that since technology is advancing at a rapid pace a new method of monitoring patient vitals will be needed in the future to optimized the care of patients and also give the medical staff another tool that helps in the care of patients.
Lifespan desires to have a new communication and monitoring system to help in their medical staff and patients in their hospitals. The implementation of the system must be done with the scheduled time. The new system will improve the current setup by having the medical staff have a mobile tablet that checks the vital signs and risk assessments of the patients that the employee is taking care of. Another element that this software will do is be able to communicate between other users to send messages like code alerts.
Project boundaries: The project is to be known to the medical staff, security and other employees of lifespan.
Responsibility & tasks:
Timothy J. Babineau- Team leader and oversee the project, one of the people in charge of approvals in the communication and monitoring system plan. Active participant in team meeting and receives reports to for approval review
Carole M. Cotter- team vice president and oversees the project, after getting permission from the president can make approvals in the communication and monitoring system plans. Active participant in team meeting and receives reports to for approval review
Frederick J. Macri- In charge of implementing the new system in the IT department and also in charge of software related issues.
Peter Snyder- senior manager in charge of the training the medical staff in new system.Active participant in team meeting and give weekly report to team leader and vice leader
Mamie Wakefield- In charge of making sure to balance out of the finances of the project. Active participant in team meeting with the weekly financial report to the team leader and vice leader
Gabriel Lantigua- Project Manager in charge of keeping up with the deadline of the project by checking in with all team members. Active participant in team meeting with the weekly report to the team leader and vice leader
Ely Lantigua- Beta tester is charge of testing the new system and checking for any mistakes or additions that can be implemented in the new system. Active participant in team meeting with the weekly report to the team leader and vice leader
Approved & Signed Off Procedure
All of the team members will be at the team meeting to give the weekly report to the team leader and vice leader. These two individuals are in charge of signing off any approvals that will be required to complete the task. After the procedure has been signed off the approved section will be implemented into the to do list for the system communication update.
1. Research the for the hardware
2. Add the software to the hardware and tailor the software accordingly
3. Make any corrections or additions to the software as needed.
4. Train all of the medical staff in using the new system
5. Add updates to software as needed.
