Project Overview

Lifespan corporate office

Lifespan is a healthcare provider and some of the associate hospitals that are locate in Rhode Island. The problem that is affecting the healthcare industry is that the medical staff takes care of multiple patients per person. For example a nurse can over see 8-10 patients. Having a mobile nurse station and additional assistance would be extremely helpful in taking care of both the patients and staff. By having tablets loaded with nurse station software containing patients readings with patient risk factor it can help the staff to easily oversee the patients. As for additional assistance needed can be covered by medical robots because patients vary in size and in weight. Sometime medical professionals have to use physical force (e.g. lifting patient from stretcher to exam table) to properly diagnose the patients for their medical care needs. Lifespan was selected because of the medical industry need for more efficient method to help patients and medical staff with their stay at the hospitals.
